• The Lump Sum Payout: This is the core benefit. You choose a "Face Amount" when you sign up (e.g., $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000). If you suffer a covered event, Aflac sends you a check for that full amount in one shot.
  • Covered Conditions:
    • Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
    • Stroke (Ischemic or Hemorrhagic)
    • Major Organ Transplant
    • End-Stage Renal Failure (Kidney Failure)
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Partial Payouts: Some procedures, like Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery or Non-Invasive Cancer (if your plan includes the cancer rider), usually pay out 25% of your face amount.
  • Subsequent Events: Most modern Aflac Critical Illness plans allow for "Recurrence" or "Additional" payouts. If you have a heart attack and then, two years later, have a stroke, you can often receive the full benefit again (check your specific MA policy for the "separation period," usually 6–12 months).
  • Health Screening: Like the other plans, this typically pays you $50–$100 per year just for getting a blood test, stress test, or other major screening.
